- Burg·er (bûr g r) n. 1. A sandwich consisting of a bun, a cooked beef patty, and often other ingredients such as cheese, onion slices, lettuce, or condiments. Often used in combination. 2. A similar sandwich with a nonbeef filling. Often used in combination. 3. Fiend (f nd) n. One who is particularly adept at something. My entire life I’ve been a meat and potatoes type of guy, however the hamburger alone has a serious track record of captivating my attention. For as long as I can remember, the burger in its many iterations has been a staple of my culinary delights and the creation of this site is in essence – equal parts humor and homage – a celebration of the patty and an ode to those who make them best. For most of my professional career I have worked in public relations in Chicago (currently at Edelman), within the food & beverage and brand marketing sectors.
